When I got my first digital camera I was wary of the technology. I didn't realize how much freedom it gave, with the unlimited test runs upon test runs of photos and posting and posting and printing ONE instead of paying gold for thirty six rough and tumble squares of meaningful gibberwocky.
I followed my dream, and asked the flowers for guidance, and they gave, oh, they gave.
Ideophrenia - A Madness Characterized by Disordered Ideas...Welcome to my Blog I Love You Love Susi Milne
About Me
- SUSI MILNE
- Vancouver, BC, Canada
- I am a multi media artist who has spent a large portion of my life prooving to myself that not only am I an organic artist with lots of talent in drawing, photography, water colours, poetry, performance art and film/video - I can do the design, maintenance and operational sustainability of high level administrative infrastructure. I have done so by working successfully in the Rat Race although that euphemism may be an insult to rats who probably do not lie and cheat and posture as much. Who knows. In any case, I am now half a century old in human years. I am one eglegteram in Mars Alien time measurement - which is apparently a good time to make a change. And that, my dear Blog followers is what I am gratefully and happily doing here! THANK YOU for reading, you know who you are!

Hemming and Hawing
Certainly, there will come a day when I am serious about content, and the hyperbole will be less focussed on Imag-i-nation, and more focussed on Sense.
Here it is,
Here it is,
Some Collage
I love the collage art form. I find it to be an entirely fluent language that circumnavigates time, elipsis and both forsaken and withdrawn eloganakan language (the 'pidgeon' form of Marsian Forthspeak - a common understandable lexicon easy for us english speaking earthlings to pick up due to its similarity to eating chocolate eclairs beside the fire on a cold winter day).
So, earthling does collage and challenges her own definition of the form, thus undertaking a wonderful epitome of love and leaping clandestine lovers - or the energy from that - towards a powerful state of zzizzle. oh yeah.

Ship Deck
There is something to be said about living aboard a shipdeck. The motion from the waves, the seabirds, the utterly beautiful views of sunset, moonrise, Mars set, abound. When I fill my dream deck with glorious flowers and happenstance animals recently turned to stone and metal by the White Witch (yes she unfortunately has carte blanche in this World - Earth). However due to unusual circumstances, I am able to help these little animals by creating a loverly environment for them. Well, see for yourself.
Also the halarious peeps I found up here. Actually they are quite good looking.

Some Paintings
I love WaterColours!
I was taught early on about colour by Mr. Eric Metcalfe and painting/drawing shapes by Mr. Jack Shadbolt. Heavy influences for an eager young artist back in the 80's that continues to this day. As well, both my parents have been active Artists, my Architect Father drawing sketching painting, my Art Teacher Mother writing, sewing, drawing, painting. Our household was filled with art, and we were encouraged to draw every day, whether it be with chalk on the living room coffee table (a big piece of slate) or on windows with black tiny line pens to better learn and catch perspective. Awesome!
Here are a couple of examples of my water colour work. The brushstrokes, the waterfilm spreading joyfully across the page with bright translucence, creating form, fiction, love of life and looking.

Fashion by The Suster (A.K.A. SusiQ)
I recently found myself in a situation wherein I did not have quite enough cash to dress up for going out on the town in the style I wanted and deserved. I realized I needed about a million dollars a year, so I had to come up with a creative solution!
I started to go down to holt and some designer shops in yale town and take pictures of the new lines of clothing as they came out. I would go on line, check out spring, summer, whatever, and only then would I hit the streets to actually go shopping – at DRESSEW and SALLY ANN and CONSIGNMENT and second hand shops and then... I started MAKING my own clothes!!!
Believe me, its not that difficult for me – I just sew a little piece here or there, take in hems on a ten dollar skirts from sally ann, put together a fur shawl that I got the materials from dresssew, etc. The only thing I spend the big bucks on is – PANTY HOSE!! And shoes and bag if I can swing it, I get those from consignment high end stores on the west side! What a laugh eh? Well, it works like a charm…often my friends and art colleagues exclaim loudly “Oh SUSI!! Where oh WHERE did you pick up such a beautiful ensemble", and I small demurely and say “well, actually, I made it myself” and they just FREAK OUT, they LOVE IT!!
Check out this image attached attachment – this is me standing in my living room before going out to an exhibit opening at the Vancouver Art Gallery.
From the top down: hair – I cut myself my bangs! I think they look great, and easy to maintain
Pearl earrings that match the pearl bracelet Daryl gave me for Solstice last year...and the Beautiful necklace that he gave me this past Solstice.
Arms – pair of “upcycled” expensive pantyhose from holt – seriously! I cut a hole at the top and the feet out and put it on…looking awesome I'd say!
Bracelets. Real silver gorgeous stuff by First Nations - I bought at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre on E Hastings.
Black camisole, extra long, from holt
Leather skirt with fringe – I cut up a pair of Danier Leather pants that had served their time as pants - one leg each made one skirt, VERRRRY sexy! One for work (knee length with just a straight cut no fringe) and one for party – this one here, with hand cut fringe. I used heavy duty fabric tape on the inside to keep everything in place and one cannot see it all.
Expensive hose on legs from holt
Boots! My god, did I ever score on this. I was cleaning out cupboards, emptying old storage boxes back in January – low and behold, these boots fell out, well they were well wrapped and preserved . I must have had it together when I was packing them up – back in 1988! yes, 1988. I remember buying them, they are BOULETs and it was just at the end of eighties and I was getting sick of the look I was into at that time, and had decided that I had bought these boots in haste and that they were too “over the top” . The Western Town store would not give me cash return. So, I actually had the wherewithall to pack them up and store them for future use. I wear them a lot now and I have to say - to copy that overused by very truthful observation – if I had a dollar for every compliment/comment I have received lately on those boots – I WOULD be a millionaire!!! I'd probably even have enough for my clothing budget :)
